Kent 350 & 254 beat Middlesex 249 & 309 by 46 runs.
The framing was interesting. Going into the final day, with 170 needed and six wickets remaining, The Cricketer went with the headline "Middlesex closing in on Kent win." The phrasal verb "to close in" seemed to be doing a lot of work there. By contrast Jon Batham, The Spitfire's colleague from "Up The Middle," wrote that Ekansh Singh had "torn the heart out of Middlesex's top order" last night. This was technically true, but it ignored the fact the middle order's heart was still beating.
