Diary of a Cricket Season: Saturday Augusr 22nd, 2026.

Middlesex 249 & 186-4 trail Kent 350 & 254 by 169 with 6 second innings wickets standing.

Ekansh Singh made a dramatic late intervention at the end of day three to take 3-35 and give Kent some momentum, just as Middlesex's opening stand was starting to look ominious. A late wicket for Keith Dudgeon helped reduce the hosts to 186-4 at stumps and it's anyone's guess how this will play out tomorrow.

Middlesex's supporters comfortably rival Kent's in the pessimism stakes and neither fan base seems especially confident going into the final day.
