No surprises: Milnes and Streets are Players of the Year
01.10.26, 10:05
There were no major surprises at the 2026 end of season awards on Wednesday night, with Matt Milnes and Coco Streets collecting the top prizes.
Milnes won four separate awards: Club Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, Bowler of the Year and Spitfire White Ball Player of the Year.
Streets was nearly as popular, winning the Club Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, and Batter of the Year trophies.
If the winners were largely uncontroversial, the success of both sides meant there was plenty of competition for "moment of the year". And if we're being pedantic (and why not, we've nothing better to do), Ben Dawkins' 180 v Durham was six hours of sustained brilliance rather than a moment, although it was still a less controversial choice than last year, when an embarrassed-looking Harry Finch had to collect the award for his 122 v Norfolk.
