Out of the frying pan, into the towering inferno?

Farbrace joins Lancashire as Director of Cricket

06.10.26, 15:50 Updated 06.10.26, 15:52

The most obvious candidate to be Kent's new Director of Cricket, will not be Kent's new Director of Cricket.

A day after Simon Cook announced he was stepping down, Paul Farbrace, has joined Lancashire as DoC, in a move described by our colleagues at Hove and Away as "another seismic shock" for Sussex.

The news seemed to take almost everyone by surprise, having been confirmed just a couple of hours after Nick Friend of The Cricketer suggested Farbrace was in the frame for the job: when Keith Dudgeon moved to Sussex last week he made a point of thanking both Farbrace and the former Kent head coach Matt Walker for making the move happen.
