Sam Billings is on the phone to his daughter when he walks into the Cornwallis Suite at Canterbury for an interview with The Spitfire.
He puts his free hand up by way of an apology, manages a bone-crushing handshake and apologises again once he’s wrapped up his conversation before trying (and failing) to work out how the new phone-charging machine by the door works.
He also looks like he has “new dad” eyes, although there’s another explanation for this.
