There won’t be a hotel built at Beckenham, there are ongoing discussions about a return to Tunbridge Wells and for anyone dreaming about a return to The Mote the good news is… well, nobody's stopping you from dreaming.
The outground question never, ever goes away and this year’s crop of rumours included rumours that Kent would abandon Canterbury (false), that Surrey would evict Kent from Beckenham (also false) and that the county might end up playing in a Rose Bowl-like venue near the Showground at the top of Detling Hill (a fantasy. Albeit a very grim fantasy).
Kent’s new Chief Executive Officer Michael Wilshaw has told The Spitfire the club will continue to operate from at least two venues in the medium to long term.
