"I'm just really proud of the effort," Adam Hollioake said after watching Kent come within 15 balls of saving a game they'd looked certain to lose for a day and a half. "That might have been something that was missing in past years but even our biggest critic would have to respect the fight that we showed, taking it to the death like that."

One look at social media would disabuse Hollioake of the idea that Kent's biggest critics had been mollified, but he had a point.
