The Bots are teasing us again. Underneath Kent’s facebook post, advertising their preview to tomorrow’s four-day game with Derbyshire, an automated speech bubble says: “What are Kent’s chances of winning?”
The club’s less optimistic fans must be tempted to reply: “zero" but the bookmakers are inevitably more cautious. The best price you can get on a Kent win is 7/5 and the worst 10/11.
You can get 4/6 on a Derbyshire win. This isn’t excessively generous, but then generous bookmakers are about as easy to find as papists at Ibrox and the home perspective may be skewed by the memories of Derbyshire’s last visit here in September, when they won by the biblical margin of an innings and 229 runs.
