Kent 413 and 233-7 (7 points) vs Middlesex 443 (7 points)
It looked like being The Longest Day in more than one sense, but from tea onwards it started to get interesting. Middlesex had the better of the first two sessions, but having ground their way to 80-3 at tea, Kent kept threatening to get away from the visitors, only for wickets to fall at inopportune times.
The festival feel, already ebbing by the time we finished at nearly 7pm on Saturday night, had gone by Sunday morning. The Hoppers Tent was down to single-figures, although there were still plenty in the CAMRA, alcohol being the most obvious of coping strategies.
