It isn't often that you can say a six-wicket margin flatters the losing side, but that, unfortunately, was the case on Sunday, when three of the wickets Kent took during the Gloucestershire chase came during what NFL commentators call: "Garbage Time".
Chasing 209, Gloucestershire had made 148 before they lost their first wicket and needed just 18 by the time Ollie Price was the second man out.
Kent coach Adam Hollioake certainly wasn't trying to put a gloss on the defeat. "We needed wickets up top to try and create a wobble in the Gloucestershire dressing room, but they batted positively," he said. "Unfortunately, we were always behind and it was difficult to catch up in the game."
