If you’re old enough to remember the summer of 1995, when Test Cricket was still something more than a tri-lateral series between the three wealthiest cricketing nations, you may recall the third test at Edgbaston, when the West Indies beat England by an innings and 64 runs.
It was all over by lunchtime on day three, the natives revolted and Dominic Cork, who’d taken 4-69, was told to make his way from Birmingham to Maidstone, so he could play for Derbyshire in their 40-over Sunday League fixture with Kent.
