Kent fall apart inside three days, despite 77 from Benjamin

It really isn’t easy watching Kent at the moment. This might be their first actual defeat of the season, but it was every bit as joyless as the draw with Northamptonshire and this time the weather didn’t bail them out.

The game was over in eight sessions, none of which could Kent claim to have won. The lower order showed some resistance on day one and there was room for cautious optimism during the first half hour of the second day, but the brutal truth is they were outclassed in every department, except perhaps in the field, where some butter-fingered fielding allowed them to get within two runs of making Worcestershire bat again.
