Rothesay County Championship – Day 1: Kent 178 (Dawkins 54, Livingstone 5-55) v Lancashire 17-2
For much of this afternoon I was looking forward to writing today’s entry in the same way a gentleman might once have looked forward to a candlelit dinner with Jade Goody, but Keith Dudgeon’s two-wicket cameo at the end significantly improved the mood.
The headlines will be stolen by Liam Livingstone, who, having hit Kent out of the Blast last season, chose this moment to make his return to the county championship. He took 5-55, with all five wickets falling for 20 runs in the space of 46 balls. He also turned it both ways, which will at least come as some encouragement to a Kent side with two spinners.
