Earlier this year KCCC chief exec Michael Wilshaw told The Spitfire the club were in "active" discussions with Tunbridge Wells about a potential return to the spa town, but in a development that doesn't auger well, The Kent League Premier Division match between Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks Vine was abandoned in the 42nd over on Saturday, due to a dangerous pitch.
The Wells were on 189-3 and former Kent bowler George Garrett had just dismissed Michael Waller for 31 when the umpires came together and decided to abandon play, meaning Garrett's team mate, Ben Compton, never got to bat. The teams were awarded nine points each, but the reigning champions face a fine and a points deduction.
