James Taylor’s show-stealing performance on day one of Kent’s County Championship game with Gloucestershire left the on-loan seamer feeling “emotional”. Taylor took career-best figures of six for 52 from 23.1 overs to swing the momentum back behind his new county, after Gloucestershire had reached 309-5.
“I actually got a bit emotional with myself when I went down to fine leg after taking my fifth wicket,” he said. “It’s my first five-for and something I have been dreaming about for eight years at first Derbyshire, then Surrey and now Kent.”
