The Joy of Misery

There’s a certain kind of sports fan who’s never happier than when their team is making them unhappy, and if the authorities can deepen their misery, that makes them happier still. Either Kent or Northamptonshire will play in Division One next season. Whatever happens over the next few days, the side who misses out will at least have the hard currency of a grievance.
